Experience the beauty of the San Juan Islands while enjoying October’s stiff breezes in the Zodiac’s sails. This autumn tour of the islands focuses on harnessing the fall wind and exploring the San Juan Islands by sail and hiking ashore. The ship will also make a visit to Westcott Bay Ciders and Distillery to sample the delicious cider and spirits produced in the San Juan Islands.

As on all of the Zodiac’s trips, passengers will be given sailing instruction, be taught basic navigation and stand watch at the ship ’s helm to steer the ship under the crew’s supervision. While at secluded anchorages there will be many opportunities to explore by kayak and hike on islands that are only accessible by private boat or charter vessel. Autumn winds make for the best sailing of the season and our guests will not be disappointed with a fall weekend in the beautiful San Juan Islands.

Bearing this in mind, the captain and crew will always endeavor to give passengers the most incredible experience possible. Already booked and wondering what to pack? See our handy packing list.

“What an adventure! This is a hands-on experience! Duty rotations include chart room, helm, bow watch and messenger. And everyone helps to raise the sails. The captain and all-volunteer crew are fun and ever-watchful over their charges. No surprise here…good food and plenty of it for very hungry people….”
