Enjoy a holistic outdoors experience in the San Juan Islands aboard the historic tall ship the Schooner Zodiac. Passengers and Crew join together to raise the largest main sail on the west coast of the United States. The Zodiac will sail north to Echo Bay on Sucia Island and anchor for the night. Passengers can explore the beautiful surroundings by kayak or hike along the beaches.
Day two will feature a sail down President’s Channel and an afternoon shore visit to the historic village of Roche Harbor on San Juan Island. As evening approaches, the Zodiac will head across to the secluded anchorage of Reid Harbor for a classic on deck BBQ where passengers and crew can compare stories of their sailing adventures.
Day three will begin with an optional hike to the Turn Point Light Station on Stuart Island. Turn Point offers beautiful views of the Canadian Gulf Islands and is a frequent feeding ground for Orca Whales. The rest of the day will be spent meandering back through the center of the islands on the return to Bellingham. The ship will return to its dock at 3pm.

First launched in 1924 as a racing yacht, the 127-foot Schooner Zodiac has been fully restored for cruising the waters of the Pacific Northwest.
While learning to sail this classic gaff-rigged schooner, reading charts, and taking a watch at the helm, you'll explore the natural wonder of these beautful islands. In the evenings, after anchoring in a peaceful bay, explore an island or paddle a kayak. Pods of orca whales, soaring bald eagles, racing porpoises and curious harbor seals are just a few of the creatures you may encounter on this voyage. Hearty, delicious meals are served by the Zodiac's professional cook, and you'll sleep on board in the ship's quarters. The ship has three bathrooms and two hot showers on board.
Part of the adventure of sailing is that wind and tide may alter your course. For this reason the Zodiac may deviate from it's intended route at the captain's discretion. Bearing this in mind, the captain and crew will always endeavor to give passengers the most incredible experience possible.
